“We were recently in the market for a new home furnace as our original was more than 40 years old and on its last legs. After receiving estimates from a couple of companies in our area (the North Bay), we met Darren Wheeler of Horizon Plumbing, who impressed us more than the others with his knowledge and his ability to communicate that knowledge to a layman. We selected Horizon to install a new furnace and to design and install the associated duct work. Darren and his assistant installed our new heating system in just a few days and I am happy to report that it works beautifully! For years we thought there was something wrong with our house because it was always cold during the Winter even with the heat on. Now we know better. I can’t recommend Horizon highly enough!”

“I went through 3 other Heating and Air Conditioning companies – all with great reviews on Yelp before I found Horizon. One company kept me on the hook for a month and then said they couldn’t fix my problem, another stood me up and then booked me a new appt for a month later, another said he doesn’t work on my type of heater. Then I was lucky enough to find Horizon. Darren is the ultimate professional. He knew exactly what to do and where to order the parts. He took out the old heater and air conditioner fairly quickly (part of my heater is in the ceiling). Even though the furnaces made now are much larger and my space was limited he worked it out perfectly and patched it up expertly. I would highly recommend Horizon as the BEST!

“Darren did a great job on our duct work and running a gas line for us to our fireplace. He and his assistant worked really hard in the small difficult space under the house. It did take a little longer than they had thought because of the limited space they had to work with, but it was done so much better than what was originally there that we cannot believe the difference in the warmth of our entire house. Before we could not get the whole house warm on the very cold days.. Not any more!!! Thank you Darren so much for sticking with us even when it looked like this job might of been impossible and doing such a great job! “This company deserves more than 5 stars. We first met the owner Darren a few months ago when we had raw sewage backing up in our 4-plex in Rohnert Park. We called 3 different companies all charging us over $5k to repair 50ft of sewer line and there was no digging it was only a liner. We found Darren, he showed up on time, and immediately analyze the problem and fixed it! total cost $2750.00 NOT $5K. Again we had the same problem in another rental in Sant Rosa, all of my plumbers were busy and everyone else we called was asking $5k. We were running out of time, we need it fixed and our 1st time investor was low on cash. *light bulb turned on* and Horizon Plumbing jump in mind….called him, showed up on time, analyze the problem and fixed it ! total cost $2200 and not $5000 ! Darren has now become our #1 plumber. As the owner of a Property Management company is crucial to have a good team under you and I am glad to have Horizon Plumbing as our preferred vendor.”

With great knowledge, he discussed a looming problem with my water heater and fully explained the remedies I could choose among. He offered solutions but did not pressure me into anything. A few days later he called to check up on the fixes he’s made to my faucets and asked me if I thought about the water heater issue. With a sense of being in very good hands, I had him over again to replace my ailing water heater, the one with all the gross gunk on the inside. He’s a GREAT plumber! I’ll definitely use him again.”

“Darren kept me advised during the diagnosis of the problem and explained (with pictures) what the issues were the old galvanized pipes under the house and what needed to be done to fix them. One of the fixes was to replace about 10-12 ft. of pipe under the house. Yikes he had to do this in a tight crawl space. Loved the 10 year parts and labor warranty. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him!”

“I learned of Horizon through a friend. Darren came today to replace a disposal and related piping etc. We were impressed with the cost and quality of the replacement as well as Darren’s skill and communication. Two of the bigger companies would not give me even an estimate by phone of what it might cost to replace a disposal based on a specific brand and model I was considering without first coming to my home ‘for an “evaluation” that was going to run me over $150. Texting a photo of my old set up and description of the type of new disposal I wanted, Darren quoted me the cost for his labor, the replacement AND offered a 7 year warranty on both.

He installed a new AC unit and we also got Nest. He did an amazing job for us. He explained everything that he was doing and resolved all of our issues. We had construction going on in our house, so he even offered to come by and change out the filters for me. He went above and beyond the scope of service, which I really appreciate. “I met Darren through a referral from a friend. I contacted him to give me a second opinion and estimate on a time-sensitive plumbing job. His estimate was far more attractive, which was great to hear. But you know you have to be a little cautious when you receive a considerably lower quote. Thankfully this was not one of those disappointing cases of ‘you get what you pay for’. Darren completed the job according to his quote and time frame. So the service, communication, and pricing was great. But here’s the primary reason I would recommend and refer Darren to others. The previous plumber told us we had to dig up the pipe in front of the house so they can access the sewer line. Darren did not rely on what the previous guy had told me. He wanted to check it himself. Well, it turned out the sewer line did NOT run out to the front of the house…it actually went out the side of the property. Needless to say, we would have wasted a couple hours of labor cost to dig up a big unnecessary hole in the front yard. Thanks to Darren we saved both time and money. P.S. He even contacted the City of Santa Rosa to come out and work on the sewer line at the street, which was actually part of the original problems for the sewer backing up.”I was happy to give the job to a Marin small business owner.
